Sati Saraniya

Warm winter greetings from our Sangha here at Sati Saraniya Hermitage.  We hope you are all well, happy and peaceful.

I am writing to express our deep gratitude and appreciation for your letter which we received with dana kindly offered for our community’s support this year. We are deeply moved by your very generous donation of $1200 as well as your ongoing support of $200 monthly to help sustain our Dhamma work. SADHU, SADHU, SADHU!

You have been pillars of our community from the very beginning – when we first moved to Perth in 2009 – 17 years ago! In those early years, we received your gift of a large Buddha statue that sits at the front of our Temple building main entrance. Daily, I pay respects as I approach it and I happily remember that it was offered by The Buddhist Place community members. This deepens the heart’s abiding in wholesome states – gratitude being one of the most powerful – and it is one of the many tangible ways we feel the blessings and encouragement of your ongoing kindness and connection all these years.

Your initiative to give more is a tremendous uplift for us to persevere on this journey as we strive to purify our minds. So, with great joy and gratitude, we thank you for reaching out and inspiring us to keep going. Also, to let you know how timely your dana is; after saving for many years, we have finally been able to begin construction of a building to replace the old unsustainable 1800’s vintage farmhouse that has been our main residence!

May your gifts be a source of much joy and peace of heart for you as they are for us. May we all remain strong and resilient in the face of worldly currents and storms. We hope that our united efforts in Dhamma practice promote greater compassion and peace for all beings everywhere. We continue to dedicate chanting and share the merits of our practice with you and all the members of The Buddhist Place. We send our warmest thoughts for your good health and well-being. May your Dhamma works protect you in every way - just as you protect the Dhamma.

In the supreme refuge of the Noble Triple Gems, on behalf of our Bhikkhuni Sangha, with heartfelt gratitude, blessings and metta,

Ayya Medhanandi
