The Buddhist Place, founded in 2000, is a registered charity that supports monks, nuns, and lay teachers from different Buddhist traditions in Ontario. Based in Peterborough, we provide opportunities for all members of the local community to explore and to practice the teachings of the Buddha in a friendly and supportive atmosphere. Our activities include regular meditation sessions, supporting local charities, hosting Dharma teachings by monastic and lay teachers, and organizing retreats where meditators can deepen their experience of the Dharma.
"The Buddha taught us to see the way things are and to let go of our clinging to them. Take this feeling of letting go as your refuge." — Ajahn Chah
